"Elephant Phenotype" New York, New York

“Elephant Phenotype” is New York, New York’s first EP release, set to debut December 12, 2010.  This EP is their first released album with vocalist Aaron Chisholm, Bassist Michael Dickinson, and drummer Tell Pryor.  The band started during the summer of 2010.  While Aaron was away working in Seattle, Washington, Tell stayed back in St. Louis, Missouri, and continued working as well.  Aaron and Tell would record guitar parts and e-mail them to each other while they collaborated together to write songs.  In August, Aaron moved back to Missouri and both started writing and recording.  In late September, Michael Dickinson filed in as the bassist and second vocalist.  The three piece band began doing shows locally while still looking for a fourth member.  Because each member has different musical influences, there is a unique style to each song from the band.  Deep folk and punk styles originate to form the genre of music New York, New York is creating.  Be sure to keep an eye out for upcoming shows and music updates.

"What Separates Me From You" A Day To Remember

"What Separates Me from You" is the newest album by A Day to Remember set to release on November 16, 2010.  This is the follow up to their hit album “Homesick” which sold 22,000 in the first week.  A Day to Remember is a combination of post-hardcore, metalcore, and power pop while also keeping the music very melodic.  The drums are an upbeat punk style drumming, but then can turn to a halftime, double bass, in your face breakdown.  The band is also known for having soft acoustic songs that are just as powerful as the hardcore songs.  They signed to Victory Records in 2006, after playing a show just outside of Chicago where a crowd of 50-60 people came and sang along as if they were lifetime fans.  Since signing with Victory Records, A Day to Remember has released three studio albums, nine hit singles, and eight music videos.  “Homesick” peaked at #1 on top independent albums, and #21 on Billboard’s Top 200.  The song “2nd Sucks” off their new album has been released on Victory Records Facebook page for fans to get a sneak peak at the upcoming album.

During the recording process, UnderOath would release individual tracks from one song of their new album starting with drums, then bass, then guitars, and finally vocals.  This built anticipation leading up to the first full length song, “Illuminator” located on their website and on MySpace. "Illuminaudio" Chiodos

“Illuminaudio” is Chiodos's third studio released album following their previous albums, “Bone Palace Ballet” and “All's Well That Ends Well.” Chiodos is set to release “Illuminaudio” October 5, 2010, on Equal Vision Records.  This album features new singer, Brandon Bolmer, and new drummer, Tanner Wayne.  Brandon left the band Yesterday's Rising, where he was the lead singer, to step in as the replacement of former lead singer, Craig Owens.  Tanner Wayne, the former drummer of Underminded and also Scary Kids Scaring Kids replaced the drummer, Derrick Frost.  Craig Owens and Derrick Frost were released from Chiodos due to disagreements between Owens and Frost.  Frost decided to lay down the sticks and leave first. Shortly after, the band came to a decision to let Owens go as well.  The band choose to keep the new lead singer a surprise until their performance at Bamboozled, but Alternative Press released the news that Brandon will be the front man for Chiodos in February of 2010.  Brandon has kept the Chiodos feel alive (delete comma) with the melodic high vocals and intense screaming that made Chiodos who they are.  The new full-length album has been released on the band’s Myspace for fans to listen to and get a preview before the CD is released.  The new songs keep the post-hardcore genre of Chiodos, while adding the new members’ individual feel to each song.  Craig Owens will definitely be missed, but new singer Brandon Bolmer has certainly picked up the slack and filled in his footsteps.
